Can I use a VPN on Chips.gg?

Short answer: yes. You can use a VPN while playing on Chips.gg. Many crypto players use one for privacy, and that is fine with us.

What a VPN does not change

Eligibility is based on where you live, not on your IP address. If you are a resident of a restricted country, masking your location with a VPN does not make you eligible: residency is what our Terms of Service and KYC checks verify, and an account found to belong to a restricted-country resident is in breach of the Terms regardless of what IP it connected from. That puts the account and its funds at risk.

The honest version: a VPN hides your IP, not your residency. If you are allowed to play, you do not need one to play. If you are not allowed to play, it will not save you at verification time.

Practical notes

  • VPNs can interfere with login sessions and cause token errors. If the site misbehaves, disconnect the VPN first: see the invalid token ID error.

  • Some VPN endpoints are shared by thousands of users and may trigger extra security checks. Switching servers usually resolves it.

  • Individual game providers apply their own regional licensing rules, so a specific game may be unavailable on some VPN endpoints even when the site works normally.

If you are unsure about your eligibility, ask live support (bottom-left corner of the screen) before depositing, not after.
