What are pools to the vault?
The total amount of funds in USD you see inside the vault is simply the dollar sum of all of the crypto currencies inside the pool, the vault is the group of different crypto currency values, we call them pools.
We explained earlier that the funds inside the vault are the profit of the casino accumulated, each currency has it's own pool, thus the profit of BTC for example will accumulate in the BTC pool and so on. Consider it as the following:
The vault is the tree
The pools are the branches
And the funds inside the pool are the fruits gained.
Positive and Negative pools
When a player loses DAI for example, it accumulates in the DAI pool, and so as other players, and if they win then the winnings are removed from the DAI pool. The pool sometimes grows a lot and sometimes not.
By the time this article was published the total amount of funds inside the vault was of 480,000$, however we have paid more then 10,000,000$ back to players in rewards from the vault over 18 month that you don't see.
Plus less famous crypto on the site will always have the smaller pools and will be vulnerable to go negative. If someone now wins 5,000 DAI based on the image below then the DAI pool will go -2,000 DAI negative and will be grayed out.
This is what we see happened above in the BANANA pool, players won more then others lost, so the pool turns negative. The only reason we gray it out is to point out to players that this pool isn't counting at the moment to the vault's total value.
Does that mean that Chips.gg doesn't have enough to pay BANANA winners?
Ofcourse not, pools can go negative millions of dollars since after all when the vault is distributed Chips.gg is getting a cut. The bankroll to pay wins is huge, but for the sake of transparency and fairness, a negative pool need to be filled back up by the casino profiting back those BANANA's. It can happen slowly, or over time. It all depends on the luck of the players and the popularity of that token,
Does negative pool affect my outcomes?
The answer is straight away, NO.
A negative pool has nothing to do with you winning a lot or losing a lot if you play with that coin, because as we mentioned above there are always funds to pay winnings, the pool is there just to keep track of what rewards can be shared with the players.
Your luck is always based on the game you play, it has nothing ever to do with the currency you play with.
Note: Huge wins that takes a crypto currency pool negative is something that happens in all casino, the only reason you see it at Chips.gg is because we run the vault and we return 50% of the profit back to the players, so we show these numbers to be as transparent as possible.
